Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SharedStead at sharedstead.com and app.sharedstead.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users of the Service.

Communities & Access

SharedStead lets people create private "communities" to manage one or more shared properties. Each community is invite-only, and access within it is controlled by that community’s administrators.

You are responsible for who you invite into a community you administer, and for ensuring you have permission to add another person’s information. You may not access a community you have not been invited to, or attempt to view data belonging to a community you are not a member of.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Keeping your account information accurate and current
• Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access

Permitted Use

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use by families and communities who share a property. You may use the Service to:

• Create and manage reservations for the properties in your community
• Read and post to your community’s board
• View community calendars, photos, and house manuals
• Communicate with other members of your community

Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to:

• Conduct unauthorized commercial activity or advertising
• Post content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or harmful to any person
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, another community, or its infrastructure
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute content belonging to a community you do not administer
• Impersonate any other member or administrator
• Interfere with the proper operation of the Service

Content You Post

You retain ownership of any content you post to a community. By posting content, you grant SharedStead a limited license to store and display that content to other authorized members of your community within the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and agree that it will be respectful, accurate, and appropriate.

Termination of Access

A community’s administrators may suspend or remove a member of their community at any time. SharedStead may suspend or terminate any account or community that violates these Terms. If your connection to a community ends, you are expected to stop accessing it, and your access may be removed.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SharedStead shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify members of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
